This Warranty Policy describes the warranty coverage that applies to outboard engines and parts purchased from Outboard Engines Supplier. Coverage differs depending on whether the product is new, used, or refurbished, as described below.
1. New Engines — Manufacturer's Warranty
New outboard engines sold by us are covered by the original manufacturer's warranty. Manufacturer warranty terms (including length of coverage and what is covered) are set by the manufacturer, not by Outboard Engines Supplier, and may require:
- Warranty registration with the manufacturer, which we can assist you with at the time of purchase
- Installation, rigging, and maintenance by an authorized dealer or qualified marine technician, in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements
- Service performed at an authorized service center for warranty claims
We will provide you with any documentation needed to register your manufacturer's warranty. For warranty service on a new engine, you will generally need to contact an authorized dealer/service center for that manufacturer; we are also happy to help direct you to the appropriate resource.
2. Used and Refurbished Engines — Limited Warranty
Unless otherwise stated on the product listing, used and refurbished engines sold by Outboard Engines Supplier come with a limited warranty of [30 / 60 / 90 days] from the date of delivery, covering the powerhead (internal engine components) against failure under normal recreational use.
2.1 What Is Covered
- Mechanical failure of internal powerhead components (e.g., block, crankshaft, pistons, camshaft) due to defects in the engine as sold, under normal use and proper maintenance
- At our discretion, covered claims will be resolved by repair, replacement of the defective component, or replacement of the engine, or a partial/full refund
2.2 What Is Not Covered
- Wear-and-tear items, including but not limited to: spark plugs, anodes/zincs, water pump impellers, fuel filters, oil, lower unit gear oil, propellers, and gaskets
- Electrical components, including ignition coils, stators, rectifiers, control units, wiring harnesses, gauges, and switches, unless separately stated as covered
- Carburetors, fuel injectors, and fuel system components, unless separately stated as covered
- Cosmetic issues (paint, decals, cowling condition) that do not affect mechanical function
- Damage caused by improper installation, rigging, or set-up
- Damage caused by lack of maintenance, improper fuel/oil mixture, running without adequate cooling water, or running the engine out of water without a flush kit
- Damage from operation in salt water without proper flushing, where the engine was sold as a freshwater unit, or vice versa as specified at sale
- Damage caused by accident, misuse, racing, overloading, modification, or use beyond the engine's rated specifications
- Damage caused by a third-party repair or modification performed without our authorization during the warranty period
- Freight/shipping damage, which is addressed separately under our Shipping Policy
- Indirect or consequential costs, such as towing, storage, launch fees, lost time, or loss of use
3. Parts and Accessories Warranty
New parts and accessories sold by us are covered against manufacturing defects for [30 days] from the date of delivery, or for the duration of any warranty offered by the original manufacturer of the part, whichever is longer. Used parts are sold as-is unless a specific warranty period is stated on the listing.
4. Filing a Warranty Claim
- Contact us at info@outboardenginessuppllier.com as soon as you notice an issue, including your order number, a description of the problem, and the engine's hours of use if known.
- We may ask for photos, videos, or a diagnostic report from a marine technician to help evaluate the claim.
- If the claim is approved, we will provide instructions for repair, return, or replacement, including any shipping arrangements.
- Claims must be submitted within the applicable warranty period stated above. Warranty coverage begins on the date of delivery, not the date of installation.
5. Required Maintenance
To maintain warranty coverage, the engine must be operated and maintained according to the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule, including oil/fuel mixture ratios, break-in procedures (for engines requiring break-in), cooling system flushing, and routine service intervals. We recommend keeping receipts or records of maintenance performed during the warranty period.
6. Transferability
Unless otherwise stated, the limited warranty provided by Outboard Engines Supplier applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable to subsequent owners. Manufacturer warranties on new engines may have their own transferability terms set by the manufacturer.
7. Relationship to Return Policy
This Warranty Policy applies after the return window described in our Returns & Refunds Policy has closed, or to issues that arise after an engine has been installed and used. If an issue is discovered immediately upon delivery and before installation, our Returns & Refunds Policy may also apply.
8. Limitation of Remedies
Our sole obligation under this Warranty Policy is, at our discretion, to repair, replace, or refund the purchase price of the defective item, as applicable. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages, including loss of use, towing, storage, or lost time, arising from a warranty claim.
